The aim of the Woodland Park Trust (currently registered as the Woodland Park Community Group - see History) is to conserve and improve the Woodland Park for public benefit.
The trust is managed by the Trustees, who are appointed at AGMs.
The Woodland Park was officially opened in 2003 by the Mayor of Eastleigh and wildlife TV presenter Chris Packham. This folllowed the transfer of ownership from Bursledon Church of England Infants School to the Woodland Park Community Group in July 2002.
Prior to 2002:
The 2017 AGM saw the existing Woodland Park Community Group trustees standown (after many years service). Seven BROWAPG members were elected as new trustees.
Woodland Park is a four-acre site of ancient woodland situated within the Old Bursledon Conservation Area to the rear of the Fox and Hounds, between Hungerford, School Road and Pilands Wood.
Made up of mixed native broadleaf trees with Victorian specimen conifer planting, the Park contains hidden iron slag heaps from the 18th Century.
